Music-Led Recovery Coaching for Neurodivergent Minds
Welcome to a unique recovery journey guided by lived neurodivergent experience. As a specialist coach based in the UK, I offer personalised support for adults overcoming addiction, anxiety, and neurodivergent challenges through an innovative blend of practical coaching and music therapy.
My path to becoming a recovery coach wasn't straightforward. For years, I navigated the complex terrain of addiction and mental health challenges whilst feeling fundamentally misunderstood by traditional support systems.
After receiving a neurodivergent diagnosis that finally explained my lifelong feelings of difference, I discovered music therapy as a transformative tool for emotional regulation and authentic connection. This revelation became the cornerstone of my sustainable recovery.
Where clinical approaches often failed me, creative expression through music built bridges to understanding myself and connecting with others. This lived experience now informs my coaching practice, allowing me to meet clients where they are—without judgment or rigid expectations.
"When traditional therapies left me feeling more isolated, music became my voice when words failed. Now I help others find their own healing melody."
The Science Behind Music Therapy for Neurodivergent Minds
Improved Global Outcomes
Recent clinical studies demonstrate that music therapy significantly improves quality of life for neurodivergent individuals, with a risk ratio for improvement of 1.22 and a Number Needed to Treat Benefit of just 6 for high-risk individuals.
Reduced Symptom Severity
Moderate-quality research across 9 separate studies shows a substantial reduction in autism symptom severity (SMD –0.83) when music therapy is incorporated into regular support practices.
Enhanced Social Connection
Music therapy consistently supports improved social responsiveness and emotional attunement, creating pathways for connection that verbal therapies alone often cannot achieve.
Most importantly, music therapy stands as a safe intervention with no evidence of adverse effects reported in clinical trials—making it an ideal complement to traditional recovery approaches.
